Happy National Nutrition Month!
March is National Nutrition Month! What better time of year to consider your health and lifestyle goals?! This year’s theme is “Put Your Best Fork Forward.” Here are some ideas to help you get started.
First, consider what you would like to change. Worried you are eating out too often? Not drinking enough water? Thinking about getting started with exercise? Need to get more sleep?
Next, reflect on the impact changing even one of these habits would have on your life. Would it be cheaper? Could it help you lose weight or avoid chronic disease? Would it add stress or take up more of your time? Is the overall benefit more valuable than the risk or time involved?
Think of what could be done to help you make these changes. Some examples would be planning meals ahead of time, to avoid eating out. Change beverage choices to water. Set aside 10 minutes, 2 days a week to start an exercise program. Cut out foods and beverages that could be keeping you up at night (caffeine, sugar, alcohol).
